Head - Learning and Development at RIA Advisory, Author and Visiting Faculty of Computer Science at various colleges at Symbiosis and Pune University MBA Department. Overall Corporate and Teaching experience of over 25 years.
1. Completed MBA after BSc (Statistics)
2. Earlier worked in Information Technology (IT) industry - Handled various responsibilities at Syntel, American Express, Deutsche Bank, L&T Infotech, i-flex Solutions (now called as Oracle Financial Services Software Limited) and RIA Advisory
3. Developed many technology solutions and managed several large projects/customer engagements across the globe
4. Visiting lecturer for many IT subjects at Symbiosis and many Pune University colleges for more than 20 years
5. Author of 75 books: 30 in English and 45 in Marathi - Many books on computer technology for students as well as IT professionals, for topics such as Network Security, Web Technology, Operating Systems, Database Management, Data Communications, C++ etc - Many of these are used as textbooks in about 50 Universities in India and abroad and two are translated into Chinese
6. Book titled "Cryptography and Network Security" has crossed the mark of one lakh fifty thousand copies
7. Marathi books are about History, Economics, Medicine, International Politics, Science, Technology, Biography, and Cricket 
8. Won Marathi Sahitya Parishad's "Granthakar Puraskar" (twice), "Uttam Granth Puraskar",  "Maharashtra Government's State Literature Award" and All India Marathi Publishers' Association's "Excellent Literature Award" for books. Won "Indradhanu-Maharashtra Times Award", "Computer Society of India Award for IT Education and Literacy", "Indira Excellence Award", "Service Excellence Award", and "GK Foundation's Social Contribution Award" for contributions in IT 
9. Regular contributor to Marathi newspapers and all TV channels 
10. Officiated as scorer and statistician in international cricket matches and is also a part of Maharashtra State Government's Marathi Language Improvement Committee

आरआयए ऍडव्हायजरी इथे कौशल्य आणि नवतंत्रद्यान विभागप्रमुख, लेखक आणि संगणकशास्त्राच्या विषयांमध्ये ‘व्हिजिटिंग फॅकल्टी’. आयटी क्षेत्राचा आणि अध्यापनाचा एकूण २५ वर्षांपेक्षा जास्त अनुभव.

२. माहिती तंत्रज्ञान क्षेत्रात दीर्घ अनुभव - सिंटेल, अमेरिकन एक्सप्रेस, डॉयचे बॅंक, एलअॅंडटी इन्फोटेक, आयफ्लेक्स सोल्युशन्स (आता ओरॅकल) आणि आरआयए ऍडव्हायजरी इथे विविध प्रकारच्या जबाबदार्‍या सांभाळल्या 
३. अनेक आव्हानात्मक तंत्रज्ञानविषयक प्रकल्पांची उभारणी/हाताळणी. जागतिक पातळीवरच्या मोठ्या सॉफ्टवेअर प्रकल्पांच्या व्यवस्थापनाचा अनुभव.
४. सिंबायोसिस तसेच पुणे विद्यापीठ इथल्या अनेक कॉलेजेसमध्ये व्हिजिटिंग लेक्चरर म्हणून २० वर्षांपेक्षा जास्त अनुभव 
५. ७५ पुस्तकांचे लिखाण - इंग्रजीमध्ये ३० आणि मराठीत ४५ - संगणकक्षेत्रातल्या विद्यार्थ्यांसाठी तसेच प्रोफेशनल्ससाठी नेटवर्क सिक्युरिटी, वेब टेक्नॉलॉजी, ऑपरेटिंग सिस्टिम्स, डेटाबेस मॅनेजमेंट, डेटा कम्युनिकेशन्स, सी प्लस प्लस अशा अनेक पाठ्यपुस्तकांचे लिखाण, त्यामधली अनेक पुस्तके भारतामधल्या तसेच काही परदेशांमधल्या जवळपास ५० विद्यापीठांमध्ये पाठ्यपुस्तक म्हणून वापरली जातात, दोघांचा चिनी भाषेत अनुवाद
६. “क्रिप्टोग्राफी अॅंड नेटवर्क सिक्युरिटी” या पुस्तकाच्या दीड लाखाहून अधिक प्रतींची विक्री ७. मराठीमध्ये इतिहास, अर्थशास्त्र, वैद्यकशास्त्र, राजकारण, विज्ञान, तंत्रज्ञान, चरित्र, क्रिकेट अशा वेगवेगळ्या विषयांवरची पुस्तके ८. लिखाणासाठी मराठी सहित्य परिषदेचा “ग्रंथकार पुरस्कार” (दोन वेळा), “उत्तम ग्रंथ पुरस्कार”, “महाराष्ट्र राज्य शासनाचा उत्कृष्ट वाङमय पुरस्कार" आणि अखिल भारतीय मराठी प्रकाशक संघटनेचा “उत्तम ग्रंथनिर्मिती पुरस्कार”; संगणकक्षेत्रामधल्या कामासाठी “इंद्रधनू-महाराष्ट्र टाईम्स पुरस्कार”, “कम्प्युटर सोसायटी ऑफ इंडिया अॅवार्ड फॉर आयटी एज्युकेशन अॅंडलिटरसी”, “इंदिरा एक्सलन्स अॅवार्ड”, “सर्व्हिस एक्सलन्स अॅवार्ड”, “जीआर फौंडेशनचा सामाजिक कृतज्ञता पुरस्कार” असे अनेक पुरस्कार ९. अनेक मान्यवर वर्तमानपत्रांमध्ये नियमित लेखन तसेच सगळ्या मराठी टीव्ही चॅनेल्सवर अनेक कार्यक्रम १०. क्रिकेटच्या आंतरराष्ट्रीय सामन्यांमध्ये स्कोअरर आणि आकडेवारीतज्ज्ञ म्हणून काम करण्याचा अनुभव तसेच महाराष्ट्र शासनाच्या मराठी भाषा सल्लागार समितीचे सदस्यपद

'IT' Happened to Me - Part 5

Computer programming is great fun. I enjoy it so much that even now, I spent countless hours trying to solve a particular programming problem, get frustrated when I am not able to understand or implement something in spite of all the possible efforts, and have a very peaceful sleep on the occasions when the challenge is surmounted. Sometimes, I actually feel that I would have been completely lost had computer programming not been invented. What else would I have done? Every few years, there is a theory that computer programming is dead, and that we need not write programs anymore. This is because computer programs themselves would write programs. So, why should humans write programs? However, in spite of code automation in many areas, we still need solid, skillful programmers. With the developments in tools and technologies, I do not know how long this would last. But I truly hope that at least in my lifetime, the joy of writing programs and constantly learning something new should ...
